PMC have chosen the illustrious High End Show in Munich to launch the culmination of twenty five years of research in their new and exciting twenty5 series.
The new twenty5 series features a host of new technologies and innovations including Laminair. The Laminair vent technology – founded on Formula One motor racing aerodynamics aims to reduce resistance, increase efficiency and eliminate air noise. The revolutionary Laminair vent creates a smooth laminar airflow as it exits the line, “delivering a faster, cleaner bass that improves definition, dynamics and bass timing”.
The twenty5 series boasts a plethora a new and innovative components including drive units, cabinets and plinths. The mid-bass drivers feature PMC’s new g-weave technology. The new g-weave cone is more robust than paper and doesn’t impart any character, “ensuring you hear more music and less loudspeaker”. The motor system within the new twenty5 series has undergone optimisation making the drive units approximately 80% more powerful than the current twenty series. The Sonolex tweeter has been tweaked to improve dispersion creating a wider soundstage.
The new twenty5 series consists of five models: two bookshelf and three floorstanding speakers. All five speakers are available in a choice of three real wood veneers: Amarone, Oak and Walnut and the striking Diamond Black.
The current twenty series will continue to be sold alongside the new twenty5 range. The current twenty series veneer selection will continue to be available while stocks last after which a neutral Jet black veneer will be offered.
